This one-day seminar will educate and inspire – personally and professionally.  You will leave confident in your ability to teach children about achieving and equipped with a solid understanding of your Kids Who Win and iPractice Program materials.

Already running one or both of the programs?  Come get new activity ideas, and be sure you’re getting the most out of your materials.  This training is for you too!

Schedule:  8:30 to 4:00 (continental breakfast and buffet lunch provided)

Audience:  School Administrators, Teachers, Guidance Counselors, Afterschool Administrators and Staff implementing or planning to implement Kids Who Win and/or iPractice Programs. (Kids Who Win is for
students in grades 4-8, iPractice is for students in grades 4-12.)

Objectives:

  • Get trained on the iPractice Program. You will leave personally energized about dreaming big and setting goals, and will have the know-how to transfer this knowledge to students through your iPractice Program.

  • Get trained on the Kids Who Win Program. You will leave prepared to start implementing the program right away. You will be confident and at ease about future planning activities required to keep your Kids Who Win Program fresh, exciting and fun for your students!

  • Learn how to maximize program results and use iPractice and Kids Who Win Programs together. You will learn how the approaches differ, and why together, they make a powerful set!

  • Learn how to get help from ReBrilliance after the training. You will learn what support options are available to you as you run your Kids Who Win and iPractice Programs.

Please plan on having program materials with you. In order to accomplish our training goals we will be doing hands-on activities with actual program materials. You (or your program’s team) will need to have one Kids Who Win Success Starter Set and one iPractice Facilitator Guide. You can bring your own if you’ve already purchased them, or purchase as part of your training registration at a discounted price.

About the Kids Who Win Program

Winning and achieving ARE teachable! Two Kids Who Win program formats are included: After School and Five Day. The flexible After School format is delivered in five blocks, each block consisting of five 90-minute sessions. An exciting five day format provides a fun camp-like experience, typically offered as a one-week summer program.  Go here for more program information.

About the iPractice Program

Children who set goals and work to accomplish them on a regular basis achieve more in and out of the classroom than children who do not.  iPractice teaches children that their future is a matter of choice and intent, that effort and guidance determine their outcomes, and that diligence, perseverance and delayed gratification are ingredients for success!  Go here for more program information.

DAY 2 - Wednesday, July 11, 2007 - Helping Children Achieve in Spite of Adversity

This one-day seminar will provide an empowering perspective on the impact of adversity on student achievement and behavior.  A practical teaching strategy for helping children become resilient achievers will be offered. This flexible strategy is useful in school and afterschool settings.

Schedule:  8:30 to 4:00 (continental breakfast and buffet lunch provided)

Audience:  K-12 School Administrators, Teachers, Guidance Counselors and Afterschool Administrators and Staff.

Objectives:

  • Learn a broad definition of adversity and understand its impact on student achievement.  You will become more effective at helping children achieve if you better understand their behavior.

  • Learn about a conceptual framework useful in helping children succeed in a resilient pursuit of excellence.  You will understand why the teaching strategy (Nine Winning Practices Character Analysis) to be provided in this seminar is effective.  Your understanding of this framework will also be useful in evaluating current or new program activities.

  • Learn an educational strategy effective at helping children deal with personal adversities, and succeed in spite of them.  You will leave with a new tool in your toolbox – one that used formally or informally will help you teach children about achieving in spite of adversity.

  • Plan activities to take back and use right away.  Through lots of practice you’ll be confident in your ability to use Nine Winning Practices Character Analysis in your setting, and will have several activities planned and ready for use right away!

Materials:  Materials include a comprehensive workshop handout, Nine  Winning Practices Character Analysis templates, sample activities and a small Nine Winning Practices Poster.
